Who Needs A Miracle?

by Judy Moon

I think we could all raise our hand to that question!

I stumbled across something that I’ve been playing with for a few weeks and had to share.

The Six-Minute Miracle Morning.

I LOVE a good cheat, or quick fix! Let’s face it; we are human doings not human beings. We are busy bees, so if there’s a way to keep me on my wellness path and can save some time and still have great benefits – I’m in!

I can’t remember how I came across this latest jewel, but here’s the skinny-

Imagine that the first six minutes of every day go something like this –

Minute one – Silence
Instead of picking up your phone to check Facebook, email, or rushing mindlessly in to your day, you just sit quietly for just one minute. Focusing on your breath, being grateful, or just simply being aware that you are alive.

Minute Two – Affirmations
Review your list of positive intentions, or goals you are working on or recite something simple like – “Good things are going to happen today”. You are reminding yourself of how awesome you are and you are reinforcing your confidence and motivation.

Minute Three – Visualization
Close your eyes and imagine your goals as if they are happening, visualize the day ahead of you how you would like to see it unfold. You actually begin to feel what it feels like if these things happen.

Minute Four – Scribing
Write down what you are grateful for, what you are proud of and what you are committed to creating. This will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.

Minute Five – Reading
Grab a self-help book or read a blog that inspires you, like Wellness Seeds, wink wink!

Minute Six – Exercise
Do some jumping jacks, do a few stretches – increase your alertness and focus.

I have been playing around with this and my version is slightly different. I meditate for 10 minutes every morning as soon as I wake up. I also do a much longer exercise period depending on the day, but the juicy stuff in between has really been a nice addition to my morning and I can honestly say I feel different since I’ve been doing it and its easy peasy!

There is a book called The Miracle Morning: The Not So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life by Hal Elrod that this comes from. I just ordered the book and I’ll let you know what I think. I think the 6 Minute version is supposed to be for the days you are too jammed up and all you have is 6 minutes. We’ll see what the book has to offer and I’ll keep you posted.

Do you have 6 minutes to feel better and live your life on purpose?

I think you do….
